April 24, 2019 / Announcements and results of actions

In 2018 Krasnodar region ranked third among constituent subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of the maximum number of produced products of commodity aquaculture. 22.5 thousand tons of it received in the region, told the Press-Service of Rosrybolovstvo (Russian fishery).

Following the results of the meeting in Astrakhan, Vice-Governor of Kuban Andrey Korobka commented that the establishment of conditions for development of a Fishery Complex is among priority tasks of AIC within the framework of the Strategy for region development until 2030. The indicators on export of fishery products to be achieved within regional dimension of the national project concerning development of export potential of AIC were also approved.

«Kuban holds leadership in the Southern Federal District in the area of commodity fishery, we rear one third of the entire commodity fish in the south of the country, and however, we’ve got some work to do in other directions. One of the most important tasks is to restore Azov firths. Last year we started a large-scale campaign on their fishery melioration, this year – we will continue», - cited the Press-Service of Administration of Kuban.

The Deputy Head of the region added that the region has arranged a system of protection of water resources, and this, in perspective, would enable to increase in times the volumes of water bioresources in Azov-Black Sea basin. We also deal with the restoration of a fish-processing industry. In 2019, 15 million rubles for subsidizing the costs for acquisition of fish-processing equipment for SME enterprises were allocated for the first time. s

As RBC Krasnodar reported earlier, following the results of 2017, the households of Krasnodar region produced 19 tons of oysters. This is five times higher than a year before – then such indicator made 4 tons. The peak of production of oysters in the region was in 2015 – at that time Kuban produced 30 tons of delicacy products. The situation with mussels is similar. According to Rosrybolovstvo data, over the last years the peak of production was in 2015 – at that time 82 tons of this aquaculture was received. In 2016 there was a decline down to 18 tons. In 2017 the indicators increased almost three times – up to 55 tons. s

Crimea holds leadership in terms of production of mussels – last year 604 tons of products received there. Primorsky region (476 tons) ranks second followed by Kuban. The Republic of Karelia (30 tons) ranks last.
